             other and further regulations relating to plumbing
             works. All plumbing w’ork must be done in a                          193/257
             skillful workmanlike and thoroughly sanitary man­
             ner and be to the entire satisfaction of the inspec­
             tor.
                 Sec. 17. That all four-inch stacks carried to
             the second or higher floor must be extended full
             size through the roof. Water closets, such as al­
             lowed, shall not be placed more than three feet
             horizontal and one and one half feet perpendicular
             from a stack. Where two or more such closets are
             placed on the same stack, one or more on the
             lower and others on the upper floors, the lower
             ones shall have two-inch vents carried above all
             fixtures. In the case of continued waste and vent
             pipe for a sink or basin where a trap can be con­
             nected at a distance of not more than one and one
             half feet, back air venting may be dispensed with,
             but only upon written recommendation of the
             inspector approved by Council.

                 Sec. 18. That where sinks or other greasy
            wastes are properly trapped and enter into grease
            pipes by a horizontal waste pipe of not more than
            ten feet with open air space between, reventing,
            with the approval of the inspector, may be dis­
            pensed with. In cases where fixtures are on the
            first floor, fixtures from the second or other floor
            entering into grease trap must in every case be re-
            vented. One and one quarter-inch traps and eight
            feet of one and one quarter-inch of lead waste
            pipe can be used for wash basins only. Waste pipe
            for sinks, bathtubs and wash trays must be not
            less than one and one half inches; for urinals or
            slop sinks not less than two inches. Bathtub and
            basin wastes shall enter main stack.
