more fixtures the vent shall be three-inch bore and
ten fixtures shall be allowed ;thout regard to size 190/257
or fixtures. When more t ten fixtures are
placed a four-inch vent pipe sha used. Back
air pipes shall be run in as direct line practicable
but shall be so arranged as to drain water of con
densation and shall either extend independently
through and above the roof of the house or be con
nected with the main soil pipe above the highest
fixture in the building.
Sec. 11. That every water closet or line of
water closets on the same floor shall be supplied
with water from an independent tank or cistern
for each closet, of sufficient capacity, and the flush
pipe shall not be less than one and one quarter
inches in diameter. No water closet shall be sup
plied with water direct from the City supply. And
no water closet known as a pan plunger, valve or
hopper, shall be used in any building the plumbing
of which may be constructed or reconstructed
after the passage of this ordinance and no closet
shall hereafter be allowed or maintained except
those of such make as have traps above the floor;
and all closets or fixtures or systems thereof of any
kind or make now in use and unsanitary, shall be
condemned, disconnected and discontinued at the
order of the Council. Where earthenware closets
are used a brass floor plate must be soldered to the
leadpipe where it comes through the floor which
brass plate must be screwed to the floor and the
earthenware closet securely bolted to the plate.
Sec. 12. No safes for waste underwater clo
sets, bathtubs, basins or any other fixtures shall be
allowed. Sediments, blowoff steam exhaust pipe
