Sec. 22. All sinks, basins or other receptacles
connected with sewers, except water closets, shall
be provided with metal strainers in order to pre
vent clogging substances from entering pipes and
no mere wire strainers shall be allowed. And it
shall be unlawful for any person to interfere with
or injure in any manner any portion or part of the
sewer system or any thing connected therewith or
to throw or to deposit any waste or offal of any
kind in any receptacle of pipe connected there
with or any garbage, vegetable refuse, rags or
papers, other than toilet or any matter or thing
liable to clog the pipes or sewers.
Sec. 23. That the plans and specifications for
work hereinbefore referred to, to be submitted to
the Council for approval in duplicate, shall show
the different connections and the location of the
different fixtures fron outlet at main or lateral
sewer to the ventilation above the roof; and when
ever any work duly authorized is ready for inspec
tion, the inspector of plumbing must be notified
and all such work must be left uncovered and con
venient for examination until inspected and ap
proved, which shall not be unnecessarily delayed;
and the test or tests herein provided for shall be
applied by the plumber doing the work in the pres
ence of and under the direction of the inspector or
the Councils other duly authorized agent or by the
inspector himself.
Sec. 24. All fresh meats, fish and vegetable
markets, restaurants and laundries, within the
limits of the City which shall maintain sewer con
nection must do same upon the most approved
