prisonment in the City jail for a period of not more
than sixty days or by both such fine and imprison 199/257
ment at the discretion of the Mayor. And any
and all such persons detected in any of such said
violations shall be subject to immediate arrest
without mandate and it shall be the duty of the
City Marshal or other officer to forthwith soarrest
such person or persons and bring them without
delay before the Mayor for trial.
Sec. 3. That all ordinancesand parts of ordin
ances in conflict with this ordinance be and the
same are hereby repealed.
Sec. 4. That this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage and approval by the
Mayor and it shall be the duty of the City Mar
shal and police officers acting under him to act at
once upon the enforcement of same.
Sec. 5. That any person guilty of any inter
ference with the works above specified after com
pletion of same shall be in like manner guilty and
subject to all the pains and penalties of this ordin
ance.
ORDINANCE No. 44.
Inspection of Water and Sewer Conections.
Sec. 1. That from and after the passage and
approval of this ordinance all residences and build
ings within the curtilage thereof, stores and all
places of business or of public congregation or
resort and premises of every character situate
within the district or area covered and served by
the water, lighting or sewerage system or either or
any thereof of the City of Lake City shall be open
to and subject to inspection by the superintendent
