cup, razor or material used in shaving others, nor
shall any barber shave any person when such barber 96/257
is sick, suffering from any comunicable or venereal
disease.
Sec. 2. The owner, manager or proprietor of
all barber shops shall keep the same, and all
furniture, appliances, tools and equipments therein,
at all times, in a perfectly, cleanly and sanitary
condition; every barber shall immediately after
using any mug, shaving brush, razor, scissors,
shears, clippers or tweezers, in serving a customer,
sterilize the same by immersing them in boiling
water for one minute, metal articles may be put
in five per cent, solution of carbolic acid or sixty-
five per cent, of alcohol for not less than five
minutes; no tools or cloth to cover head rest shall
be used on more than one person after the same
has been boiled and laundered; no barber shall
undertake to treat any disease of the skin.
Sec. 3. Every barber shall keep his person
and clothing, when serving his customers, in a
cleanly condition, and shall immediately after
serving each customer, thoroughly cleanse his
hands; no barber or other person shall use a
barber shop as a dormitory.
Sec. 4. The owner, manager or proprietor of
every barber shop shall cause a copy of this
ordinance to be posted in conspicuous place in
his shop.
Sec. 5. The word “barber,” as used in this
ordinance, shall be construed to mean any person
who shaves another person, trims or dresses his
hair for pay, apprentices and shop boys.
