Tigers Pounce on the Englewood Rams
Starting immediately Tommy Young
was dominating the Rams defense.
Marshall Wilson and Tommy Young
combined to move the ball into
scoring position then Tommy Young
put the ball over, and Johnson's ex-
tra point was good.
The score was 7-0 with time
remaining.
Kelly Lowery and Marshall Wilson
take turns racking up yardage.
Tommy Young put the top on things
with a 4-yard run. Paul Johnson's
point after was good, 14-0.
With the ball on the 22 Kelly Lowery
put the ball in the air to Duke Silvey
to move it to the 6. Three plays later
Tommy Young went in for another
score. The kick was wide leaving it
23-0.
An alert Terry Staten picked up the
ball after the kick off. The Tigers set
up shop again. Then the cool
combo of Lowery and Staten hit
paydirt. Johnson's kick was good
and the Tigers were back on target
putting it almost out of reach at 30-
0.
From the 6-yard line Marshall Wilson
moved around the right and without
a scratch, again the extra point was
good. The halftime margin was 37-
0.
Jay Milton recovered a fumble and
from there Mike Dace got into gear
scoring in consecutive runs. The ex-
tra point was no good; it stood at
43-0.
Followed by an interception of
Bobby Duncan's pass, the Rams
scored pulling them up 43-7.
Followed by a Duncan fumble the
Rams engineered another score.
With the clock showing 7:22 left the
score was 43-13.
The Rams onsides kick paid off
when the Tigers regained posses-
sion. They moved in for their final
score with 5:40 left to play it was 43-
19. Mike Dace put the icing on with
a 47-yard scamper around the right;
and while the extra point was no 1. Kelly Lowery struggles for some yardage.
good, the Tigers held their heads 2. Michael Dace sprints for 6.
high with a 49-19 victory.
