The Tigers came into the game with
a 6-2 record. They had to play the
tough Forrest Rebels on their home- Tigers Burn Forrest
coming, in a chilling wind. They put
together a hard fought 22-21 come-
          back victory.

The Rebels got on the scoreboard
first when, after an exchange of
          fumbles, a fleet forrest halfback
sprinted 34 yards into the endzone.
The PAT was good, and Forrest led
          7-0.
The Tigers received the kick-off and
marched 84 yards in 6 plays for the
first Tiger score. The PAT was good,
and the game was tied at 7-7.
The Rebels put another 7 points on
the scoreboard in the 2nd quarter,
to make the score 14-7 at the half.

The Tiger's offense took over after
stopping a Rebel drive, by forcing a
fumble, recovered by Jay Milton. It
took them only 6 plays to score,
          again. Outstanding performances
from Young, Lowery, and Dace en-
abled the Tigers to move the ball to
the Rebel's 4 yard line. From there
          Junior speedster Mike Dace blasted
into the endzone on a forth down
          play.

Head coach Simmons sent in the
play to go for two. Quarterback
Kelly Lowery rolled out, and looped
the spiraling pigskin into the hands
of the big Senior tightend, Duke Sil-
Tommy Young stopped by Rebel player
vey, who then hauled it in for the
          conversion.
As a result of the Rebel score early
in the third quarter, the Tigers were
still on the shortend of the score,
          21-15.
The Tigers, as a result of a Rebel
kick, wound up on their own 6 yard
line, with time becoming a major
          factor.

The Tiger offensive team moved the
ball with quick passes, and slashing
runs to the sidelines to stop the tick-
          ing of the clock.

Down 21-15 the clock read 3:32 left
to play. Receptions by Ricky Rauler-
son and Dean Williams moved the
ball to the Tiger 33 yard line. From
          there Young, the Tiger workhorse,
carried the ball to the 16 yard line.
Then Dace, who was a potential
threat all night, broke around the 4
          yard line.

          Tigers, via an offensive penalty,
were moved back to the 9 yard line.
But, on the next play, fullback
Tommy Young broke out and Tiger defense creams Rebel player
          scored.
With PAT good, the Tigers thrilled
the fans with a 22-21 comeback
          victory.
