Mayor and, if from evidence the Mayor believes
the condition of such chimney or stove pipe to be
dangerous, he shall order the alteration to be made 114/257
at the cost of the occupant.
Sec. 14. No stove pipe shall be constructed
or used unless it shall be sheathed with tin, iron,
copper or brick and be secured at least two and
one-half inches from any wood work and project
two feet from the building in which the stove is
situated, and there shall be at least four feet from
the mouth of the pipe to any other building.
Any person violating the provisions of this
section shall be punished by a fine not exceeding
five hundred dollars or by imprisonment not ex
ceeding sixty days.
Sec. 15. It shall be unlawful for any person
to carry any uncovered or open light of any kind
into any stable or barn or any place where
provender, trash or any other matter is contained
that is easy of combustion, and further, it shall
not be lawful for any person to permit or send any
servant or other person into such place or places
hereinbefore described.
Sec. 16. No person shall place within any
building in the city, ashes in a box or other recep
tacle of wood, unless the same is immediately re
moved from the building and from further contact
with such building.
Sec. 17. It shall be unlawful for any person
or persons to give or cause to be given a false
alarm of fire with intent to deceive.
Sec. 18. No person shall obstruct with build
ing material or otherwise, any cistern or fire plug
