ordinance, in a book provided for that purpose and
to account for and pay over to the City Treasurer 109/257
at the end of each month all moneys received by
him from such source.
Sec. 6. That any City Marshal, policeman or
other persons authorized under this ordinance,
to catch, take up, impound, sell or kill any dog,
who shall remove any collar or tag as herein
described from the neck of any dog or who shall
cause the same to be done by or through any other
person for the purpose and with the intention to
take up, impound, sell or kill the said dog as
herein provided, shall be subject to a fine of not
less than five dollars or imprisonment in the City
jail or place of confinement for a period not ex
ceeding thirty days.
Sec. 7. Whenever the Mayor shall deem it
expedient for the public safety upon an alarm of
hydrophobia he may issue his proclamation by
posting at the Postoffice, corner of Railroad and
Marion streets and County Court House in said
City, prohibiting all dogs from running at large
within the City limits unless the dog shall be secure
ly muzzled and such prohibition shall continue
until public notice of the discontinuance thereof,
given in the same manner as before said by the
Mayor of said City. Any dog running at large
during the period covered by such proclamation
shall be deemed a public nuisance and shall be
disposed of as hereinafter provided.
Sec. 8. Every person owning, possessing,
keeping or harboring and bitch, must keep such
bitch off the public streets during breeding time
(or in heat) and should such person owning,
