trash or rubbish, or debris of burned or fallen 111/257
down buildings and any person violating the pro
visions of this ordinance shall be punished by a
fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars, or im
prisonment not exceeding thirty days. And may
be successively prosecuted and punished for such
continued violations.
ORDINANCE No. 12.
Fire Dept, and Prevention of Fires.
Section 1. The Chief of the Lake City Fire
Department shall be appointed by the Mayor by
and with the consent of the City Council. No
person shall be eligible to the office of Chief unless
he shall have had ten years’ experience as a fire
man.
Sec. 2. The paid members of the Fire Depart
ment shall, on recommendation of the Chief of the
Fire Department, be appointed by the Mayor,
by and with the consent of the City Council.
Sec. 3. The Chief and members of the Fire
Department appointed under provisions of this
ordinance shall hold their respective positions,
unless removed for a good and sufficient cause,
during good behavior.
Sec. 4. No paid fireman shall take part in any
political campaign, and no Chief shall use his
official position to further the interests of any
political candidate.
Sec. 5. Any Chief or paid member of the Lake
City Fire Department who violates Section 4 of
this ordinance shall be subject to dismissal from
such service.
