                               Charter of the City of Lake City
                                 ORDINANCE No. 15.                                120/257
                            Live Stock Running at Large.
                    Section 1. No Cows, hogs, sheep, goats,
                horses, mules, asses or any one or more of such
                animals shall be permitted to run or roam at large
                upon any of the public streets, highways, parks
                or other such grounds within the corporate limits
                of the City of Lake City, Florida; and it shall
                be unlawful for any person or persons to drive
                into said City and release or to turn out upon any
                of the streets or public grounds within said cor­
                porate limits any one or more of such animals
               or leave or permit same to roam at large therein.

                    Sec. 2. It shall be and is hereby made the
               duty of the City Marshal or of any policeman of
               said City of Lake City to promptly take up day
               or night, and confine in some secure place provided
               for that purpose any and all such cows, cattle,
               sheep, goats, horses, mules, asses or hogs or any one
               or more of such animals that may be found roaming
               or running at large within or upon any of the
               public streets or highways or parks or other
               public grounds of said City; and thereupon the
               City Marshal shall immediately and not later
               than one day thereafter give public notice of
               the taking up and confining or impounding
               of any such animal or animals which notice
               shall be by the posting of three written or
               printed notices or advertisements, giving a des­
               cription of such animal or animals, at three separate
               and conspicuous public places in said City, one of
               which shall be at the door of the County Court
               House and another at the door of the City Hall or
               place of holding Council meetings or Mayor’s
               courts which said notices shall be so kept posted
