for a period of five days and shall state the time
and place when and where it is proposed to make 121/257
such public sale of such said animal or animals.
Immediately after the expiration of the five days
notice hereinbefore provided for, between ten
o’clock a. m. and twelve o’clock noon on the time
and at the place named in said notices or adver
tisements the City Marshal or his acting chief of
police shall appear at the place specified and public
ly proclaim such sale and shall then and there offer
for sale and sell at public outcry to the highest
bidder for cash any and all such animals so taken
up and impounded and advertised by notice as
aforesaid which place of sale when convenient shall
be at the door of said Court house or public pound;
Provided, That the owner or owners of any such
animal or animals so impounded or advertised
shall have the right at any time before the sale
of same as herein provided for to redeem such
animal or animals from said City Marshal or
acting chief of police by paying to the Treasurer
of said City, the cost of taking up, impounding,
caring for, feeding and advertising any such
animal or animals as herein provided for.
Sec. 3. That for the taking-up and impounding
of any such animal or animals the fee to be paid to
the officer performing such duty shall be Two and
one-half Dollars per single animal; Provided, That
where more than one such animal belonging to the
same owner is taken up and impounded at the same
time two and a half dollars shall be charged only
for one of such lot and twenty-five cents additional
for each additional such animal belonging to the
same owner; the Marshal shall also receive a fee
of twenty-five cents for caring for, advertising
