                              Charter of the City of Lake City
                                ORDINANCE No. 17.                                 124/257
                                         Sidewalks
                   Section 1. That the owner or owners of every
               lot, piece or parcel of land within the corporate
               limits of the City of Lake City which may front
               on or abut upon any street or. lane, whether the
               same be owned in fee simple or held under any
               other title, shall be bound and are hereby re­
               quired to construct, repair or otherwise keep in
               thorough repair, a good and sufficient sidewalk or
               foot pavement constructed in the manner, to the
               width, and of the material hereinafter mentioned
               and described, along the whole length and breadth
               of said lot, piece or parcel of land as the same fronts
               or abuts on the street or lane. Such owner or
              owners shall comply with an order of the street
               committee to construct, repair or place in repair
               such sidewalk or foot pavement within ten days
               after notice thereof shall have been posted on
              such land or the owner thereof otherwise notified.

                   Sec. 2. Said sidewalk shall conform to the
              grade as established by the city, and the Street
              Committee shall furnish, free of charge, the grade
              and lines when requested so to do by any person
              desiring to conform a sidewalk to the proper line
              and grade.
                   Sec. 3. All sidewalks shall be constructed of
              hard brick, stone, rock, artifical stone or asphalt
              as the Council may direct and order by resolution,
              from time to time, of such thickness of material
              and quality as shall be specified in the notice re­
              quiring the construction.

                  Sec. 4. On Marion Street the width of all the
              walks or pavements shall be not less than five feet.
