On other streets the width of pavement or side
walks shall be such as the Council shall direct
through its notice at the time of order of construc 125/257
tion, but no sidewalk shall be less than four (4)
feet in width.
Sec. 5. The owner or agent of any land
within the corporate limits of the City of Lake
City shall, within twenty-four (24) hours after
being notified by the Marshal or any member of
the police force or member of the Street Com
mittee, remove or repair any sidewalks, fence or
other structure in any stret or lane,, abutting on or
upon said land which may be considered dangerous
or detrimental to the citizens.
The Street Committee may require any side
walk or foot pavement repaired or removed under
the provisions of this section, to be repaired or
replaced so as to comply with the provisions of
this ordinance, within ten (10) days after notice
thereof shall have been posted on said lands or the
owner thereof otherwise notified.
Sec. 6. The Marshal is designated to serve all
written notices designating and requiring such
construction, and he shall report in writing to the
Council, upon the original notice, the service of the
same, whether by posting or by delivering a copy
thereof to the owner or occupant, and the date of
service, all of which notices shall be preserved and
filed by the City Clerk.
Sec. 7. If the owner or owners of any lot or
lots of land within the City of Lake City shall fail
to comply.with any of the provisions of this ordi
nance within the time prescribed in notice served,
the City Council may contract for the construction
