and selling each of such animals and shall receive 122/257
the further sum of twenty-five cents per day for
the feed and care of each such animal so impounded.
All such fees and charges shall be paid to the City
Treasurer, in case of redemption by owner and his
receipt taken therefor before release of any such
animal or animals shall be permitted. In case
of sale the total proceeds shall be turned over by the
officer making such sale to the City Treasurer and
his receipt likewise taken for same. The Treasurer
shall regularly make separate report to the City
Council of all such sums and fees received by him
whether from redemption or from sales together
with the name of the officer through whom re
ceived. All fees and amounts due officers for tak-
ing-up, keeping, feeding and impounding, advertis
ing and selling any such animal or animals shall be
paid to such officer by order of the City Council
as in other cases of the proceeds of such sales of
redemption fees and the overplus by the Council
to the owner upon application or proof of owner
ship.
Sec. 4. That any person or persons guilty of
any violation of this ordinance or who shall break
into or open by any means any pound or other
enclosure where any such animal or animals are
confined under the provisions of this ordinance
or who shall in any way liberate or release any of
the same, except by redemption and with the per
mission of the officer as herein provided, or who
shall in any way obstruct or hinder, or interfere
with any such officer in the discharge of his duty
in enforcing the provisions hereof or who shall
drive in, turn out, or release to roam at large upon
the streets or public grounds of said City as
