City, Florida, and Samuel B. Thompson and Am
brose B. Hart, then partners under the firm name 225/257
and style of Thompson & Hart, that portion of
Escambia street commencing at Columbia street
and running west two hundred and ten (210) feet
between the blocks or lots 67 and 68 to Alachua
* street, and then occupied by said firm as a mill
yard, was discontinued as a street by the terms of
said agreement, and leased to the said firm, their
successors and assigns, for the period of ninety-
nine (99) years, for the specified rental of twenty-
five (25) dollars per year.
And whereas, under said contract or lease, the
said firm and its successors have paid the Town of
Lake City a sum of money approximating three
hundred (300) dollars.
And whereas, it is now to the interest of the
said Town of Lake City and the public conven
iences that Columbia street be extended from the
north boundary of Railroad street to the Florida
Central and Peninsular Railroad track.
And whereas, A. B. Hart, successor of the said
firm and owner of the said land, lying between
Railroad street and the F. C. & P. Railroad track,
is willing to open a street thirty-three (33) feet
wide from said Railroad street to said railroad
track as an extension of said Columbia street, and
to permanently dedicate the same to the public’s
use as a street.
Now in consideration of this said agreement
and upon condition that the same be performed,
said extension of Columbia street is hereby ac
cepted by the Town of Lake City, Florida, as a
consideration for the modifying of the term of the
lease aforesaid, so that the yearly rental thereunder
to be paid by the said firm or its successors to the
